I would like to take this great opportunity to share with everyone in this page that last week I received a direct confirmation from Ms. Arielle Demby Berger, ASA in charged of the Broward Conviction Review Unit and on behalf of the Honorable Harold F. Pryor, State Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit in and for Broward County, that Ernesto’s case will be reviewed by them. This confirmation was received by a phone voice message followed by an email directly from Ms. Berger.
This confirmation is something for what we have been praying for. I personally started this website in July of 2018, with the sole intention of making Ernesto’s case 100% transparent. Everything that has happened in his case has been published here with the hopes of facilitating the understanding of the complexities involved in this stale case.
It has been a long wait, but finally the very same office of the State Attorney that once accused, prosecuted and brought Ernesto to trial on these charges, has made the decision to review and reevaluate the facts and evidence revolving this case. This is the best news Ernesto, and all of us, who have been diligently working and insisting to see justice in this case, finally can come together in celebration.
I want to express, on behalf of Ernesto, his daughter, his family and friends, my deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Broward Conviction Review Unit, the State Attorney, the Assistant State Attorneys, and each and everyone of the volunteers assigned to review this case. I personally believe this process is without a doubt, the manifestation of integrity placed into action.
I, humbly but sincerely believe, that we are unfolding a true moment in the history of justice in this case. All of us together will eventually come to see and recognize the true colors of what a miscarriage of justice looks like and feels like, to those unfortunate people who have encountered it.
I also invite you to unite yourselves with us in prayer and fasting. Let us pray together, that God will guide and assist all these people involved in this review to adequately see, understand and apply the facts and laws surrounding this case. We do not pray for windfalls to come our way or good luck. We pray for the justice of God to be revealed and manifested over this case.
